This Privacy Statement applies to personal information collected by Rankin Securities Pty Ltd ATF Rankin Family Trust (ABN: 81 946 165 806), its subsidiaries and related companies ('RANKSEC'), including information collected through our web sites www.ranksec.com and from communications with you.

 

Protecting Privacy

RANKSEC treats very seriously the ongoing trust you have in us to protect your personal information. For that reason we have put in place systems and procedures to protect your privacy whenever we collect, store, use or disclose your personal information.

Collection of Personal Information
We collect most personal information directly from you, for example, when you enter into an agreement with us, purchase through our web site, deal with us over the telephone, send us a letter, give us your business card, visit our website or when you visit us in person.

However, we may need to disclose personal information without your consent, for example, where required by law, where required during the investigation of an offence or where required for Court or for recovery proceedings.
We may also need to disclose personal information to third parties, for example, to third parties providing transportation and logistics services for the supply of goods you have requested.

Marketing and Privacy
Servicing customers well is fundamental to our business. As part of this service we may use personal information we have collected to identify a product or service that may benefit you. We may also contact you from time to time to let you know about other products and services.
You can contact our Privacy Officer at any time at if you do not want to receive marketing information from RANKSEC. We will process these instructions as soon as practicable.

You Can Request Details about Your Personal Information
Subject to some exceptions, you can find out what personal information RANKSEC holds about you by contacting our Privacy Officer at the address below. We will, however, need to verify your identity before giving you access.
In a limited number of circumstances, we may not be able to tell you what personal information is held about you. Circumstances where this may arise include situations where:

  • disclosure will threaten the privacy of other individuals;

  • the information relates to anticipated legal proceedings;

  • the information would reveal our commercially-sensitive decision-making processes; or

  • the law prevents us from disclosing the information.

If we are unable to tell you what personal information is held about you, we will give you the reasons why and attempt to find alternative means to enable you to access the information.

Correcting Personal Information
If you learn that the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date, you should contact us immediately to enable us to promptly update or correct our records. If we disagree with any new information you give us, you may request a statement be attached to your personal information noting the information you have given us.

We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable steps to protect any personal information that we hold about you from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. 
Our procedures provide that your personal information can only be accessed by people who have the requisite need and authorisation to have access.

We maintain physical security (such as locksmith security systems) over our paper and electronic data storage and our premises. We also maintain computer and network security, for example, we use fire walls (security measures for the Internet) and other security methods including identification codes and passwords to control access to computer systems.


We Destroy Personal Information We No Longer Need

We will destroy or de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed:

  1. for the purposes for which we collected it; or

  2. for the purposes of meeting legal, accounting or compliance requirements.

Resolving Your Concerns
You are entitled to complain if you believe that your privacy has been compromised. We will respond to a complaint as soon as possible. We will try, wherever possible, to resolve the complaint within 10 working days. When this is not possible, we will contact you within that time to let you know how long it will take to resolve the complaint.

In addition to the policy as stated above, the following provisions apply to your use of our web site and to your email communication with us.

Emails sent to RANKSEC are routinely monitored by us and our information technology suppliers for the purposes of systems administration, quality control and compliance.
If you send an email to us, your email address will be recorded. 


On-line Subscriptions
If you subscribe to any on-line service we provide, you may be required to supply us with the following personal information:

  • name;

  • email address;

  • occupation and corporate entity; and

  • postal address.

 

The information you provide will be used to send information and material to you. If you no longer wish to receive information from us, please contact our Privacy Officer.

Changes to this Policy
Periodically we will review and amend this policy. When amended, an updated version of our privacy policy will be posted on our websites www.ranksec.com. An up to date version of our policy may also be obtained from our Privacy Officer.
