is currently a Director of the Board of the ACT Softball Association (Softball ACT). The Association administers softball in the ACT and surrounding region and is part of the national softball community that comprises:

The Australian Open Men's team, the Aussie Steelers, are ranked number 1 in the world as a result of their sensational 5-0 defeat of the New Zealand Black Sox at the 2009 ISF Men's World Championship in Saskatoon Canada. 7 of the 11 players of the World Champion team were form the ACT.
The Aussie Spirit Australian Open Women's team is ranked 3rd in the world as a result of its performances at major international events, including:

is a recently retired Director of the Board and Deputy Chair of the ACT & Region CrimeStoppers (ACTRCS). Operating throughout
Australia, Crime Stoppers has become an integral part of policing with the information gathered and supplied by the community essential to crime fighting and crime prevention.
ACTRCS, as a Not-For-Profit organisation, works closely with the Australian Federal Police and community groups to collect information which may help police solve a crime. As with all members of the Board, this position is voluntary and is
Murray's small contribution to making our community a safer place.
Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA)
Murrayis a recently retired member of the AIIA ACT Branch Committee and as with all committee positions, was a volunteer. He also chaired the Intelligence, Defence & Security Committee and introduced the AIIA member base to the opportunties within that industry sector.
The AIIA leads the ICT industry in
Australia, with almost 500 member companies that generate combined annual revenues of more than $40 billion, employ 100,000 Australians and export more than $2 billion in goods and services each year. AIIA sets the strategic direction of the ICT industry, influences public policy, engages industry stakeholders and provides member companies with business productivity tools, advisory services and market intelligence to accelerate their business growth.
The AIIA ACT Branch aims to fulfil the national strategy on a local basis through fostering the ACT and Region information industry development.
