Murray continues to enjoy a distinguished career in the IT industry of over 27 years working across Australia and around the world in both the public and private sector. He is an occasional guest lecturer in business and ITC strategy at both the ANU - National Graduate School of Management and Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
Murray is the Co-Founder and recently retired CEO of The Distillery Pty Ltd, a Canberra ACT based global technology success story. Murray was responsible for growing it from two founders in 1997 to international success with close to 100 employees and offices in Australia, New Zealand, London and Washington and an extensive partners network extending from India, South Africa and Asia to Europe.
He is extremely experienced in capital raising for ITC start-ups and early-growth stage companies. He has a keen interest in business planning and strategy development. Murray is a sought after speaker and mentor to emerging business leaders. He has a deep understanding of technology and its enabling application to organisational objectives and outcomes.
Murray sits on numerous Boards of innovative technology and service companies across Australia and is a founding committee member of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) ACT Branch and is a director on the board of Crime Stoppers ACT.
Murray is best known for his contributions to national security and law enforcement in both working in various government services and in latter years through his Distillery vision of developing and providing world class security software solutions to the domestic and international markets. Murray was previously awarded an Australia Day medal in recognition of his efforts to Australia's law enforcement and security initiatives.
